Registration:
To register, here’s what you need to do:
Saturday morning clinic details:
Location: we meet in the lacrosse box across the street from Hyde Creek Rec Centre for our warm-up and we run the local trails and streets.
When: Saturdays
Start time: During the Winter season, we warm up at 8:50 and set out on our route at 9am. During the Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons, we warm up at 7:50am and set out on our routes at 8am.
How it works: Once registered, you will receive a weekly email with tips, club info, and the Saturday routes for each group. You can then click the link to see a map where your group will be running. Arrive at Hyde Creek on Saturday morning at 8:45am and be ready to begin our warm-up at 8:50am. We then break into program groups. Your leaders will explain the route, the goal of the day, and set timers. You will then head out on your training run. At times, your front leader will direct the faster runners to circle back to bring the group back together. The goal in our first few weeks is to build group comradery. Once your run is complete, your leaders will show you some stretches before leaving.
Mid-week training: You will be expected to get 2 more training sessions per week done on your own. We have many runners meeting up in groups during the week and these runners communicate, motivate, and support each other through Whatsapp groups.
We also have groups meeting on Tuesdays at Hyde Creek for session #2 of the week, as well as on Thursdays (AKA Thirsty Thursday) at 6:30pm at Tinhouse Brewing. On Thursdays, we meet at 6:30pm, head out for our session #3 run and then head inside for a social afterwards. This is a great way to meet other runners in the various programs in Poco Run Club.
